jonasbildMentors – About us

Jonas Himmelstrand

I work as an educator, mentor and writer running my own business based in Sweden since 1981.

My early training was in chemistry at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. I also studied Mathematics, Physics and Social Anthropology at the University of Uppsala, Sweden. Ultimately I found chemistry between people more interesting than chemistry between molecules.

For three years I worked at a therapeutic home with children and their families. I received my consultant training from British mentor Mike Pegg. I have also completed a four-year training in personal development with the American therapist Binnie A. Dansby.

I travelled extensively in my early years. When 16 years old I had travelled around the world, lived and gone to school in Nigeria and the United States as well as in Sweden making English a strong second language. I am married to Tamara with whom I collaborate on the Training Skills workshops. We have three children.

The theme of all my work is making space for people to grow to their full human potential in their individual lives, in family, in organisations and in society.

I work as a music teacher, educator and personal growth coach.

I lived my early years in Switzerland and studied music and violin at the Conservatoire in Lausanne. I had my first job as an educator when I was eight years old. My father missed a recorder lesson, so I gave it instead. This was the start of a passion for training and education.

Later I have become interested in the relationship between teaching and personal development. I have completed a four-year training in personal development with the American therapist Binnie A. Dansby. I have also led a program for children with special needs and there further developed my coaching and leadership abilities. I am married to Jonas with whom I collaborate on the Training Skills courses. We have three children.

Since a few years back I also write in Strategies. In the future I see a book on music pedagogy and and the vision of a book on motherhood – the archetypal coach and mentor role.

The theme of all my work is helping people to find and follow their spiritual calling, and to recognise that we are whole and complete beings from birth.
